Nicolette transformeert poppen tot sculpturale werken die de dunne lijn tussen perfectie en imperfectie verkennen. Project B is een reflectie op schoonheidsidealen, maatschappelijke verwachtingen en de complexiteit van identiteit. De pop is een cultureel icoon, een symbool van perfectie, maar ook een weerspiegeling van onrealistische schoonheidsidealen.
De interactie tussen het lichaam van de pop en de omlijsting speelt een cruciale rol: de transparantie van plexiglas creëert de illusie dat de figuur zweeft, gevangen in haar eigen wereld, een poëtische confrontatie met de verwachtingen die haar worden opgelegd.
In ieder kunstwerk zit een zoetwaterparel, het kenmerk van de maker, een ode aan Nicolette’s moeder, die nooit zonder haar geliefde parels de deur uit ging.

Nicolette transforms dolls into sculptural works that explore the fine line between perfection and imperfection. Project B is a reflection on beauty ideals, societal expectations, and the complexity of identity. The doll is a cultural icon, a symbol of perfection, but also a reflection of unrealistic beauty ideals.
The interaction between the doll’s body and its frame plays a crucial role: the transparency of plexiglas creates the illusion of the figure floating, trapped in its own world, a poetic confrontation with the expectations imposed on it.
Each artwork features a freshwater pearl, the signature of the creator, an ode to Nicolette’s mother, who never left home without her beloved pearls.
